The Gail Kelly Young Women Leaders Scholarship

 

 In my time as Westpac CEO, I saw the importance of Executives developing outstanding leadership capabilities. Through this new Scholarship, I’m hoping to support young women to excel in their education, lives, and careers. 

The Gail Kelly Young Women Leaders Scholarship was established to support outstanding future women leaders throughout their undergraduate studies at the University of New South Wales Sydney. Since its inception, the Scholarship has garnered interest from a vast number of remarkable women, all of whom have demonstrated passion, dedication, and outstanding achievements in their respective areas. The successful applicants truly embody the qualities required of the leaders of tomorrow.

In November 2023, Gail hosted the inaugural Gail Kelly Young Women Leaders Scholarship Lunch. At the UNSW Library Lounge, the current and former Scholarship recipients gathered to meet each other, Gail and the Acting Dean of the UNSW Business School, Professor Frederik Anseel for the first time.

The room was buzzing with excitement as they connected and shared their experiences. Scholars’ areas of study spanned Economics, Law, Medical Science and the Arts. Despite their varied disciplines and backgrounds, they were united by a common thread, a fervent aspiration for success. All recipients expressed deep gratitude for the support and opportunities provided by the Gail Kelly Young Women Leaders Scholarship.

Gail looks forward to seeing both the enduring legacy of the Scholarship and the remarkable achievements of these exceptional women leaders in the years to come.
